When Quality Matters
A unique MANITOBA COUNTRY STORE owned and operated by the Unger family.
Come out to our homestead where five generations of Ungers have produced the food their families and communities were raised on. Our long history of feeding livestock and preparing it for consumption is rooted in our complementary services. Nourish your livestock with our special feed blends and find many supplies you will need for your small farm. When it comes to supper time, build entire meals with the many retail meats and locally sourced products available in our store.
Unger Meats was established in 2009 and is owned & operated by the Unger family. Weʼre proud to offer you locally fed and raised Beef and Pork products. Over the years of providing our own families with quality meat products, we realized that other families felt it important to know where their meat came from and wanted more personal contact with the processor.
Our desire to meet this need resulted in Unger Meats. Unger Meats has various family recipes that have been passed down over three generations which are all available in our retail store.
Our three generations of experience has led us to specialize in custom cutting and processing your beef, pork, lamb and game.
Owned and operated by the Unger family, we provide quality feed for your livestock including beef and dairy cattle, hogs, sheep, horses, chickens and rabbits. We also sell quality dog and cat food for your pets! And for the outdoor enthusiasts who love to feed wildlife, we have what you’re looking for too!
Convenient Feed Options
Most of our products are available in 20 kg bags or in our mini-bulk options: 55 gallon barrels or 1 tonne totes.

The Ungers 1903 story began in the very place we share with our customers today. Our family’s farming experience has been built on the homestead for five generations and we chose to keep our base of operations for Unger Meats, Unger Feeds and the Ungers 1903 storefront here to maintain an authentic farm experience for our customers and serve their many needs in one place.
Food draws people together in fellowship. We want to share our products and experience with our customers to help them feed their families and build relationships around their supper tables, backyards and BBQs.
Our history and experience of raising livestock and growing crops here on the farm has given us the tools to help our customers in raising their own livestock and backyard animals. With proper nutritionally balanced feed and supplies, our goal is to help make your farming experience successful and enjoyable.

RON UNGER | In Loving Memory
President & CEO
1970 – 2019
Ron was an entrepreneur and visionary. Along side his wife and business partner, Kami, he lived and ran the Ungers businesses with integrity, loyalty, love, and a wonderfully kind spirit. So many of you who knew Ron, knew that he always had a big smile for everyone and enjoyed building relationships with our customers. He always had time for a cup of coffee and treated everyone fairly and with respect. So many of you enjoyed conversations with Ron which either happened in the store, as he helped carry meat out to your vehicle or simply while leaning up against the tailgate of your truck. What you may not know is exactly those conversations or interactions is what energized him and propelled him forward with the businesses. Customer service was alway top of mind for Ron!
Ron was a leader and a teacher. He empowered his team and always left everyone feeling as though they could do anything they set their mind to. Ron took much pride in the family business. Working along side his wife, children and his siblings is what he cherished the most.
Ron always said “There is no such thing as a problem. Everything in life is a challenge, ready and waiting to be overcome.”
We miss Ron dearly! His absence is evident at every turn but as he would want, we are carrying on and honouring his dream and vision for the family business.
